She’s his brother’s nanny...and totally off-limits.

In an effort to escape her overprotective mother, Cassie moves to Tampa to decide her future and claim her independence. When she lands a job as a live-in nanny to adorable twin infants, she’s convinced she’s on the right track.

Until she meets her new roommate: Tom. He’s an off-the-charts gorgeous neurologist (are they even allowed to be that sexy?) her boss’ brother, and also her aunt’s best friend. There are way too many points of contact for them to take the risk...but Cassie can’t help but fantasize what contact with him would feel like.

Tom knows the stakes, but Cassie’s vibrant spirit strikes a chord in his heart and he can’t stay away. But just when they start to think they’re moving in sync, the unthinkable happens. Did taking the risk create a chasm too wide to bridge?

**Risky Move is a standalone book in the Tampa Suns Hockey series. This sweet and spicy full-length novel can be read on its own—no cliffhanger, no cheating and a guaranteed Happily Ever After.

You may enjoy meeting and following a growing group of friends connected by the Tampa Suns professional hockey team. Some characters are introduced in the Clearing the Ice Trilogy and Healthy Scratch.*

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being a fan and long time reader of Robyn Ryan, I was elated to find out that we’d be getting Tom’s story as he was a pivotal character from the Clearing The Ice series. While you don’t need to read the series to read this, I highly recommend you do – mostly because I LOVED it. Risky Move is a part of the spin-off Tampa Suns Hockey series and Ryan continues to bridge the two series with this story. In this case, the series is further connected with Laurens’ niece Cassie at the front and center in this story. There’s a slight forbidden element to this story, but mostly in the mind of our heroine.

When Cassie moves to Tampa Bay she’s come from a slightly sheltered life, one driven by parental expectations ( her mother) and her own immediate lack of direction. She’s barely twenty and doesn’t have a good idea what she wants to do, but she’s great with kids and the Chadwicks’ twins give her an immediate influx of confidence. She and Tom share an immediate connection and she’s not sure she can do anything about it.

Cassie has a very active inner dialogue which I enjoyed immensely. She a really well-developed character, if a bit naive at times, but Ryan is a master with story and character development. She quickly feels like a family member but as her circle widens, she learns some lessons about trust and accountability. Unlike the build-up of her relationship with “her munchkins”, she and Tom’s relationship is a sweet slow burn. As for Tom, he is everything I expected him to be, and more. I loved the trajectory of their connection and how he forges it.

I really enjoyed what this story gave us and it remains apparent that Ryan loves the sport. The teams’ dynamics are almost as important as the individuals the story is focused on. Risky Move is yet another stellar romance from Robyn Ryan.

About Robyn M. Ryan

By the time she was an eight-year-old tomboy growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Robyn M Ryan definitely knew what she wanted to do when she grew up to play major league baseball or write.

Her love of writing grew throughout grade school and high school, first composing novels based on favorite television shows and favorite musicians. These stories passed among friends and then landed in a trunk. Attending the University of Georgia's journalism school launched a career in public relations. An internship with Atlanta's first-ever professional hockey team, the Flames, reignited the love of hockey.

Robyn wrote books that she and her friends wanted to read. These novels languished while she pursued a career in public relations, resurfacing every so often when a new idea nudged her muse. Life changes eased time constraints, and with the encouragement of a writers group formed on Twitter: WritersThatChat, she published her first novel in May 2016. The first in the Clearing the Ice hockey series This Piece of My Heart was nominated for the 2016 Summer Indie Books awards. This Piece of My Soul, book two in the series continues the storyline and introduces the Tampa Suns hockey team and was published January 2017. Besides writing, her passions include following NASCAR and the New York Rangers, and splitting time between homes in Atlanta and Palm Coast, with two brilliant Westies who manage both homes.
