I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I’m a bookworm, a mathematician, not the kind of girl a hot lobster fisherman would notice.
Until he did.
I’m not in small town Nova Scotia to hook up. I’m here to settle my grandmother’s estate and sell the B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with seasonal fisherman and operated on the honor system. The hard-core fishing folks become an instant family––the one I never had. Then there’s the blind pet cow, who has a crush on my hot fisherman, Nate. Okay, technically he’s not mine. I have no desire to get reeled in.
Until I do.
Soon, the little town grows on me, and the fisherman? It’s not long until I take the bait and we’re playing house at the B&B. Things are looking up.
Until they aren’t.
Rumors about a new plant and jobs being in jeopardy start swirling around town like a nor’easter, and all the signs point to my guy being behind the scandal. Should I give him enough line to play it out and learn his true intentions, or cut and run before I’m hooked?

I am unequivocally in love with this book!
I jumped at the chance to read this book when I saw it was set in Nova Scotia. I spent time in Halifax years ago and fell in love with all things Nova Scotia. I have wanted to return to the island ever since. This fictional and virtual adventure to Lunenburg solidified that longing. Using the power of all things Google, I found myself exploring Lunenburg and looking up pumpkin boat racing (yes, it’s a thing). Reading this gave me such a jolt of happiness and quickly put Cathryn Fox on my radar.
What made this story so great is the characters and the dialogue. They all seemed so real to me. I found myself with a non-stop smile and when I had to put the book down for some real-life activities, I couldn’t wait to get back to it. The meet-cute between Kira Palmer and Nate Montgomery is unapparelled, and it just gets better and better.
It was glorious to see brainiac Kira allow herself to fall for Nate, and for businessman Nate to find a community and his person despite his objections to “being a keeper.” They are surrounded by a wonderful cast of secondary characters with Sam and his punny jokes firmly leading the packt. Not far behind is Bridgette, the blind cow who is in love with Nate, and the larger group of lobster fishermen and B&B roommates with some of the best hearts. As with all great love stories, there’s some conflict to be had, but not before Kira and Nate could recognize their feelings, if only to themselves.
This a definitely one of my top favorite Rom-Com reads EVER, and I book I highly recommend. 5++ Stars.
