DAVIS—Honest Abe to his friends—IS IN OVER HIS HEAD…
He’s a fixer
and a do good-er. The all-knowing, resident “grandfather” on the
wrestling team who everyone relies on to fix their problems. His teammates go
to him for everything; advice, homework, or when they need a sober driver at
three in the morning–whether he likes it or not.
current mission is easy: mend his roommates broken heart by helping him find a
girlfriend on the LoveU app–without getting caught in the lie…
Over her bad
grades. Over her meddling older brother and his two best friends. And over
dating douchebags. What she wants to know is: where have all the nice guys
She longs
for a handsome, sweet, and honest guy who can make her laugh. In one last ditch
effort to prove that he exists—Skylar turns to LoveU.
On her worst
day, Skylar has no filter (it’s a miracle she hasn’t been ditched mid-date).
On her best,
she’s as wholesome, and sweet, as pie.
On Thursday?
She matches with Abraham Davis’s roommate.
Gabriel is falling for the wrong guy—she just doesn’t realize it yet.
This is a great book to add to the series. Ney writes us some loveable and romantically challenged athletes. Yet they all have something that makes them special…if the right girl is will to look. We have Abe “Grandpa” Davis. What I recalled of him from previous books left an unremarkable impression. However, Ney found a way to wiggle him into our hearts. He’s unintentionally a bit of a pushover, even though he’s a hunk muscle wrestler. Tender-hearted, really. While he’s trying to do his friend a solid – who really needs to pull his head from where the sun doesn’t shine..ahem..JB! – , he sadly puts himself in a precarious position of ruining something before it can even get started.
The book is a fun, fast read. Granted you’ll want to kick JB in his unmentionables a few times, but we at least get a visit from Zeke Daniels – SWOON!! Hannah makes for some great comic relief, and I’d love to see her get her own love story. She certainly deserves it; she’s a top-notch wingman to Skylar. It’s a sports romance, but the connection between Sky and Abe is so endearing and sweet. You’ll gobble up their interactions and just the way he looks at her.
Bottom line? Sara Ney continues on delivering in the Douchebag series. Bring on the next one!
