Sometimes life's most magical journeys bring you back to where it all began...From USA Today bestselling author Emily March comes The Christmas Wishing Tree, an enchanting account of the magic and miracle of Christmas.
A man who loves adventure and the open sea, Devin Murphy returns for a short Christmas trip to his small hometown of Eternity Springs. Immersed in the joy and magic of the holiday season all around him, he doesn't hesitate to play along when a young boy phones Santa to ask for a very special wish. Devin never guesses that a wrong number has the potential to make everything in his life so right.
Jenna Stockton adopted Reilly when he needed a mother and she intends to keep him safe. A small town across the country called Eternity Springs seems like a good place to hide from their past without any complications --until sexy Santa himself discovers her secrets. When Devin proposes a daring plan to face down the danger together and defeat it once and for all, she is tempted. Maybe Devin really is capable of making wishes come true? Perhaps in a Christmas wish they'll both find the miracle they've been looking for all along...
A delightful Christmas novel in the New York Times bestselling Eternity Springs series.
Every story set in Eternity Springs, Colorado leaves me feeling like mush – invariably I experience a blubbery happiness as tears slide down my face. One of the joys of reading is that you can always re-read a book and one of my criteria for a 5 star read is that I ask myself if I would ever re-read the story. When this story ended I longed to return to the community and the characters and so with a resounding yes, I would happily re-read this story. The Christmas Wishing Tree may just be my favorites thus far.
What starts with a childs’ call to Santa at “North-Pole-One”, answered by Ausie Devin Murphy while visiting family in Eternity Springs, becomes the catalyst for new life for Jenna and her son Reilly. This is such a powerful and yet fun and heartfelt story, with a clear message about the importance of believing, manifesting hope for a joyful outcome. See the journey that drives Jenna and Reilly in Eternity Springs is fraught with danger and Jenna is forced to uproot them. After the memory of her call with Devin, Jenna begins to envision Eternity Springs as a safe place, and thus their worlds collide.
Although Devin is a gem, there are a few moments, where I wanted to each through the page and knock some sense into him. The Murphy men are nothing if not chivalrous, but the circumstances that left Devin with the phone that Reilly called in the first place clearly points to fate. I really enjoyed everything about this story. There are no easy fixes and at times Jenn and Devin aren’t on the same page. But from the beginning their connection is strong and makes for a wonderful romance.
This story left with the warm fuzzies and kept me reading way into the night. It left me and wishing for and believing in holiday magic winter, spring, summer, and fall. 5 Stars and recommendation.
