Forever Summer Reading Q&A with

Sara Richardson

Where is your favorite place to write?

One of my happiest places at home is our back deck, which looks out on open space and the mountains. We have a nice shady spot where I sit with my dog Maddy. I get a lot of inspiration in the great outdoors!

What is your favorite summer tradition?

Every Fourth of July we go and visit my parents’ small mountain town and take part in all of the festivities—a parade on main street and a spectacular fireworks show at the fairgrounds. It’s quaint and nostalgic and the perfect place to spend the week celebrating with BBQs and campfires.

Beach or pool?

If I had a choice, I would pick the beach. I love listening to the sound of the waves, and the people watching is much more interesting. J

How many stories do you work on at the same time?

I am usually working on at least two stories at the same time—writing one and going through production/edits on another. That doesn’t count the many other stories that are still stuck in my head. I’m always finding inspiration and keep a notebook of future ideas.

What summer drink would you pair with the heroine or hero from your book?

Mateo Torres would go well with a Ten Fidy Imperial Stout beer brewed locally by Oskar Blues in Colorado. It’s a bold-flavored beer with dark and seductive notes of chocolate and caramel that push all the boundaries. Just. Like. Him.

True-Blue Cowboy, part of Sara Richardson’s Rocky Mountain Rider series, is available on July 31, 2018.
