I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I never wanted to leave her. But I had no choice.
I’ve spent the last three years raising my daughter and wishing for things I couldn’t have. When I came back to New York, I thought I could find my way back to her. But that path was lost, grown over and hidden from everyone, especially me.
Her obsession over her best friend’s death is dangerous, and the man she’s after could put her life at stake. She’ll never let it go, not until he’s behind bars or dead.
She just doesn’t realize it might not be him who pays in the end.
If only she’d let me help her. If only she’d let me in. When she sets her mind to something, that’s it. But there’s an exception to every rule, and I plan to be the exception to this one.
And I’ll protect her until my very last breath, whether she wants me or not.
Bestselling author Staci Hart brings you an addictive romantic mythology series where love is the ultimate game, and Aphrodite always wins.
The very first time I met Staci Hart (LUCKY ME), she told me herself told me I would love this series ( in it’s original inception as the Deer In the Headlights,etc.). Having spent 5 minutes with me, she nailed it! In this final book, Aphrodite is now facing the maiden Artemis, who has a bit of a grudge against her (don’t they all?? Why are all the Gods and Goddesses so down on love??) and Jon and Josie have a massive gap to close. It’s not going to be an easy challenge for Aphrodite, but it is what it is.
Once again I’m awed by Staci Harts storytelling, the brilliant melding of 2 plot lines and the ever inspiring battle for happiness. I’ll admit, of all the couples I think Jon and Josie really have the most to overcome and that drives the angst factor up a bit. Why would a man ever think he could leave his true love the way he did (and think he could win her back) made me certain he was crazy. But Jon, he’s just a good guy doing what he genuinely felt was right. The plot is driven my the modern day mystery where Josie finds her life in danger and Jon works to be her hero. Teaming up is the only good path forward is to team up and that causes it’s own new set of problems. And Ditta. She’s in a fog of grief following her battle with Ares. She begins to spiral out of control and we’re left wondering if she would she find her way back to sanity.
I have loved every word in this series and once again Staci has solidified herself as a favorite author o’mine. 5 Stars and my emphatic book/series recommendation!!

About the Author
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey.
From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
