Feeling the rush comes with a price...

Mackenzie Cox has lost everything—except Hayden Hayes. With Kenzie's racing career over, and her family no longer speaking to her, Hayden has been her rock, as she tries to pick up the pieces of what was once her life.

But when Hayden's racing team hires his beautiful ex-girlfriend, Felicia, to be their new hotshot rider, Kenzie and Hayden's seemingly solid relationship begins to crack. Kenzie can only watch from the sidelines, as Felicia lives the life she was forced to leave behind, and as tension begins to build between Hayden and Kenzie, she wonders if Hayden isn’t the man she once knew.

I’m not sure I can put into words what I’m feeling after reading this book. I have felt so many emotions throughout the book—I went from anger, to disgust, to devastation, to love—and I have no idea what to do with them all. But then, this is the beauty of books. The best ones make you feel all sorts of things, things you don’t necessarily want to feel. And Dangerous Rush definitely did that to me. And I loved to hate it, and vice versa.

Since this is not a standalone, I don’t want to give too much away And without going into too much detail—because spoiler alert—let’s just say Hayden sure made it hard to love him at times. But life is complicated and messy. He sure put Mackenzie—and me—through the ringer emotionally. But just like always, S.C. Stephens’ talent lies in redeeming her characters after bringing us to the edge of wanting to murder them. I couldn’t help but love Hayden.
And Mackenzie, oh how I adore her. She’s such a strong and determined characters it was refreshing to see.

S.C. Stephens has a unique talent to torment me emotionally with her book, her writing, and her characters. I felt it everything, just like I’m sure she intended. And I couldn’t put the book down after I started reading it—I sure felt guilty for a second reading it at work—but her words enthralled me in the best way possible.

Dangerous Rush will keep you glued to your kindles way past your bedtime; it will make you wanting to scream, swoon, and fall head over heels in love with these characters. I haven’t experienced such well-established and complex characters in a while and it was refreshing to read such a well-rounded and thought out story.

If you’re in need of an angst-fest pick up this series, you will not regret it. The emotional lows and highs will give you a rush you haven’t experienced in a while!

Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove. Daughter of a racing legend, she is eager to show the world that she has inherited her father’s talent in the male-dominated sport of professional motorcycle racing. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonized by her rival team’s newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Plucked from the world of illegal street racing, Hayden immediately gets under Kenzie’s skin. His insinuations that Kenzie is a spoiled princess who was handed her career fuels her desire to win, and much to her surprise, Kenzie soon learns she performs better when she’s racing against Hayden.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into and intense—and strictly forbidden—attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie always does her best to play by the rules, but when her team slips into a financial crisis, she has no choice but to turn to Hayden for help. The tension simmers during their secret, late-night rendezvous, but Kenzie has too much to lose to give in to her desires. Especially when she begins to doubt that Hayden has completely left his street life behind…
