There’s a tall, tattooed man in my bed.
Not any tall, tattooed man.
He’s a rock star.
A sex god.
And now he’s my husband.
Last night, I married Joel.
It’s ridiculous. I’m a good girl. I don’t get into trouble. I don’t look twice at bad boys.
I can’t stay married to a rock star.
But there’s something about Joel. Not just the way his green eyes light up when he smiles, or the way he makes me laugh, or the way he makes me shake with pleasure–
I’m not sure I can walk away.
Bella Chase is a challenge.
With the tight bun and the cute cardigan, she’s as prim and proper as they come.
My only plan for the night is getting her under me, screaming my name.
Filling her with so much pleasure she begs me to stop.
I didn’t plan on marrying her.
But now that she’s my wife, I’m not about to let her go.
Dangerous Rock is the first book by Crystal Kaswell that I’ve read and it seems to me she takes the standard “what happens in Vegas” premise and creates a unique story line. This has the bad boy rocker and opposites attract themes done up in it’s own style. It’s all about completely endearing characters, great dialogue and a sweet and sexy connection.
When Joel and Bella hook up for a one night stand, it’s so that Joel can feel like he’s helping this poor pent up girl, and Bella is doing it with the intent of simply escaping the pressures of Law school. Neither could ever have anticipated anything more coming from this night of fun and a bit of sin in sin city. Kaswell establishes a timeline giving Joel and Bella an expiration date. They get 1 week together and then it’s done. It’s simple right?
I was completely sucked into to both characters. I loved them equally. They are flawed in their own ways, but are two of the most accepting people that either of them have met. Joel could be secretive about his bad habits, but he’s forthcoming save some family history. Bella herself is hiding things from Joel, but it’s more a matter of when they will share certain truths. The trust is just there, they just need some time. For Bella, she’s got some confidence issues but Joel has a way of making Bella feel courageousness and the desire to just be herself, if only she knew exactly what that means.
What kept me so engaged in this story is the banter and easy connection these two share. Plus, well it really is a super sexy read. This is the kind of story that you simply feel the characters falling in love, becoming a part of each others lives. The drama is low and the pace of the story is just right. I found it hard to put away, but then happy I had it to go back to. Kaswell has made a Dangerous Noise groupie out of me. 5 Stars and recommendation

Crystal Kaswell writes scorching hot new adult romance. When she isn’t writing, she is chain drinking tea, binge watching Law and Order, practicing yoga, or debating which fictional character would be the best in bed. She lives in Portland, OR with her husband.
