pwmackdaddybookcover5x8_bw_high-fixedFrom New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?

So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.

At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.

Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.

I was riddled with jealousy, because they didnÔÇÖt know thatÔÇöto meÔÇöhe was much more.

They didnÔÇÖt know about our past.

HeÔÇÖd chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.

As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: ÔÇ£Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.ÔÇØ And I was suffering in pain from my case.

I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.

Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.

And soon I might be breaking all the rules.

Author’s note ÔÇô Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

I suffered a Mack Attack. ┬áOh, Penelope really outdid herself. ┬áAgain. ┬áThe level of angst, anger, heartbreak, and longing was of epic proportions. ┬áShe wrote a story with so many layers of complexity and unexpected twists sometimes I wasn’t sure if I wanted to laugh, cry, or just shake my kindle.

Can we call this a second-chance romance when it never had a chance the first time around? ┬áMaybe we can call it an “almost there but nothing happened yet my heart is still shattered” type of story. ┬áBut remember what I said about layers and twists? ┬áOh yeah, this is just the beginning. ┬áFrom there we see heartstrings getting pulled, lots of confusion, a┬ápotential for new beginnings, and scheming. ┬áSee, I told you…layers!

And Mack…oh dear Mack. ┬áOnce he was able to extract his head from his a$$, we see the beauty of the man we only glimpsed in the beginning. ┬áHe’s a hot dad, a good friend, a HUGE slice of man candy, and all-around great guy. ┬áIt’s impossible not to love him.

And Francesca, our dear Frankie Jane. ┬áShe is the embodiment of heartache and confusion. ┬áShe never really got over Mack, but she certainly had to move on. ┬áBut when he comes back into her life? ┬áHe certainly upends it again. ┬áYou can feel how she’s torn in two diametrically opposite directions. ┬áBut what I love about Francesca is her strength of character. ┬áShe’s a quirky little bird, but she’s confident in who she is.

The Cure does a beautiful job of encompassing some of their emotions and turmoil in Pictures of You”. ┬áAfter reading this book, it certainly gave me a new dimension to the song and made my heartache. Thus, I must share. ┬áOh, and you need to read this book!

Looking so long at these pictures of you
But I never hold on to your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true
But always just breaking apart
My pictures of you

There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you
