All is well in Holly Woods.
My best friend's love triangle is now a happy little circle. My sister-in-law just gave birth to my gorgeous new niece who is the world's best cuddler, and Nonna's not on my back every ten minutes about the fact we're getting married in one month.
Until the mayor's nieceÔÇöour baker for the weddingÔÇöcommits suicide. At least, that's what the note says. My gut says we're talking a different kind of 'cide.' My gut also says I should stay well away, and in the interest of Drake's sanity, I plan to.
But when life throws you an unexpected curveball... Sometimes the best laid plans need tearing up.
Even if you don't mean to do it.
Happily ever after...
If Holly Woods survives this.
Over a year ago, I came across the blurb of Twisted Bond in a PR email. Being intrigued, I figured IÔÇÖll give it a try. Not knowing IÔÇÖd just come across what is going to be one of my favorite series in the Romantic Suspense genre. Emma Hart definitely has a talent to draw you into the mystery and keep you guessing constantly.
Twined Bond was the perfect ending for an amazing series. It contained it all, mystery, romance, suspense. It was so full of twist and turns I didnÔÇÖt know where it was going. It definitely ended with a bang I did not see coming.
While for once Noelle really tries to stay out of trouble, it catches up with her like always. But her curious nature just does not allow her to not investigate. While sometimes I can easily predict the outcome of a book, with Twined Bond I had absolutely no idea where it was going. Which made it absolutely perfect.
Twined Bond had the perfect balance between sweet romance, suspense, and sarcasm. Noelle, Drake, and the Bond family are entertaining, but they also portrait strong bonds between each member, pun intended, and their loyalty to one another knows no bounds. Emma HartÔÇÖs writing, plot, and complex characters only enhance the story and make the characters more believable.
Unfortunately, you cannot read this as a standalone, but reading the series is definitely worth your time. You will fall in love with Noelle, Drake, but especially with her crazy grandmother.
I cannot recommend the ÔÇ£Holly Woods FilesÔÇØ, or Emma HartÔÇÖs writing enough. Twined Bond was a definite 5 star read for me.
~Review by Anja
ÔÇ£Tell that to my ovaries.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£I think I did last night when I hugged Casey.ÔÇØ He winks at me.
I playfully shove his chest. ÔÇ£It made me think. That’s all.ÔÇØ I slide my hand down his stomach and, in a small┬ávoice, say, ÔÇ£I think you’d be a great dad.ÔÇØ
He smiles, pressing his lips to mine. ÔÇ£And you’ll be a great mom. When you figure out how to be an adult.ÔÇØ
I hit him again. Much harder this time.
He laughs, stepping back and moving to the coffee machine. ÔÇ£Stop getting your panties in a twist over every┬álittle detail, okay, babe? Take everything one step at a time and let me help you. Instead of freaking out in┬áyour office alone, call me.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£What if you don’t answer?ÔÇØ
He shrugs, hitting the button on the machine. ÔÇ£Leave me ranty messages and I’ll come with cupcakes,ÔÇØ he┬ásays over the gurgling of the coffee spitting into his mug.
ÔÇ£And just like that, he makes me forget why I was ever worried about marrying him,ÔÇØ I tease.
He simply looks over his shoulder, smirks, and throws me a second wink.
And an idea flies through my head.
A crazy, stupid, ridiculous idea.
The moment the coffee machine stops, the kitchen fills with silence.
One that makes my idea buzz loudly.
ÔÇ£Mhmm?ÔÇØ He turns around, still stirring sugar and cream into his coffee.
ÔÇ£What if we did it? Got married. Eloped but kinda didn’t.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£You’re confusing me now, sweetheart.ÔÇØ
I’m confusing myself. But still… ÔÇ£We’re registered, right? We both have each otherÔÇÖs rings in the safe in the
closet. Why don’t we just…do it?ÔÇØ
He stills, but his blue eyes swing from his mug to meet my brown gaze. ÔÇ£Are you suggesting we blow off the┬áceremony, grab our rings, and go see Father Luiz right now?ÔÇØ
