Love Addicts Anonymous by JC Reed, Jackie Steele
Genres: Contemporary Romance

I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Kade Wright is an expert in rocking any woman's world.

Sexy, rich, and the type you donÔÇÖt bring home to meet your mother, he has broken more hearts than he can remember, and there is no end in sight. Until one mistake lands him in boiling hot waters. When his company orders him to the LOVE ADDICTS ANONYMOUS Rehab Center, he better get his affairs in order or else he loses his seat on the company board.

Love isnÔÇÖt supposed to be addictive. But for Vicky Sullivan it is.

A true romantic at heart, she comes with a bit of a stalking tendency, and is completely not adverse to commitment. But whos Kade to judge? As someone whos seeking commitment and afraid of never finding love, shes the type of woman he wouldnt usually hit on. Except, shes hot and keeps avoiding himyes, even after seeing his private parts naked in all their glory.

Kade isnÔÇÖt known as the tall, dark and ruthless businessman for no reason. Romance isnÔÇÖt in the air, more like wild between the sheets action with no expectations. VickyÔÇÖs convinced she can resist, but Kade has other plans for her.

Can Vicky stay away from the one man who seems so easy to get and so hard to keep?

Overall, I really liked the premise of this book. ┬áThe cover art is phenomenal and the idea of throwing together a love addict AND a sex addict in a no touch, no fraternization setting makes for some fireworks. ┬áAs the story unfurls, we get a much better feel for Vicky and her situation. I enjoyed finding out that there was much more than meets the eye; she wasn’t just some love-obsessed stalker. ┬áIt takes a bit to get to really know her since she does initially come off as a bit crazy. ┬áHowever, you’ll find yourself pondering your first impression of her once a few more details come to light. (Kudos for keeping us on our toes!)

I can’t say that I got a really strong impression of Kade. ┬áHe completely embraces the fact that he is thought of as an asshole. ┬áI wonder what lies beneath that tough skin. ┬áHe’s successful, heading up a company he started and he loves sex. ┬áUnfortunately, these two separate parts of his life are intersecting in a not good way. ┬áSince this is a novella, the first of three, I can only imagine we’ll get to know him further in the second installment.

I think the fact that this was a novella, rather than a full -length novel and it’s broken into three segments, made it very difficult for me to become invested in the story. ┬áJust as I was starting to dig my claws into Vicky and want to know more about Kade, part 1 was over. ┬áIt’s truly a stylistic choice for the authors, but I found that it disrupted my bonding with the characters.

So, my final verdict is that I think the story is worth reading, but I would have personally wanted to wait until all three installments were published so I could become invested in the characters and the story. ┬áIf you’re okay with cliff hanges, then dig on in!

ÔÇ£Changed your mind after all?ÔÇØ The voice is deep and husky. For a moment, IÔÇÖm immobilized as he continues, ÔÇ£I think bedrooms are a bit overrated, but what the hell? If thatÔÇÖs your thing, IÔÇÖm up for it.ÔÇØ

ItÔÇÖs the same guy.

I turn to face him, my gaze strangely drawn south, and find that a thin towel is wrapped around his hips, covering his junk.

I let out an exasperated snort.

ItÔÇÖs really tiny. The towel, that is.

Not his tool.

That oneÔÇÖs about the biggest IÔÇÖve ever seen, counting TV and Internet pop-ups.

I donÔÇÖt want to gawk, and yet I find my gaze glued to the clearly defined bulge beneath that towel.

In the bright light spilling in through the large bay windows, I can see everything. ThereÔÇÖs no denying he still has a raging erection, as though pleasuring himself wasnÔÇÖt nearly enough to still his sexual appetite.

ÔÇ£Seriously?ÔÇØ I ask, pointing to the towel. ÔÇ£CanÔÇÖt you put something on?ÔÇØ My voice sounds strangled, breathy, which I attribute to the fact that IÔÇÖm highly uncomfortable standing in front of a hot guy built like a Greek god and hung like a donkey.

ÔÇ£WhatÔÇÖs so important that you had to interrupt?ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£I interrupted?ÔÇØ My jaw drops, and white hot flashes of anger begin to cloud my vision. ÔÇ£Oh, youÔÇÖre talking about your date with your right hand. Sorry about that.ÔÇØ I smirk. ÔÇ£What are you doing here?ÔÇØ

His brows shoot up. ÔÇ£Here?ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£Yes, here in my apartment.ÔÇØ

love-addicts-teaserIgnoring my question, he squeezes past me, his erection coming dangerously close to my abdomen. From up close, he smells of sandalwood and raw manliness.

My breath catches in my throat.

It takes all my willpower not to jump a few steps back to put some distance between us.

He retrieves another white towel from his suitcase and wipes his face with it.

Every fiber of my body is heating up at the sight of his naked back. Bruce is tall and a bit skinny. This guy is built like a boxer: tall with broad shoulders and hard muscles in places I didnÔÇÖt know existed.

As he turns to regard me, I notice the color of his eyes.

Deep brown and broody with long, dark lashes.

TheyÔÇÖre the sort of eyes that make you feel like youÔÇÖre the only woman in his world.
