The only thing that matters to me is rescuing my sister from the drug-cooking cult that once enslaved us both. IÔÇÖve run cons my whole life, and IÔÇÖll use my body to get whatever I need. Max Daniels is the last connection I have to that world, the one person reckless enough to get involved. Besides, now that his brothers have turned on him, he needs me too.

The deal was supposed to be simple: a place to hide in exchange for rescuing my sister. Now heÔÇÖs my prisoner. Totally at my mercy. But IÔÇÖm the one captivated. Enthralled. Doing everything he asks of me until IÔÇÖm not sure whoÔÇÖs in control.

We both crave the heat. The more it hurts, the better. But what if Max wants a different life now, to leave the game . . . to love me? I thought I knew better than to get burned. Now IÔÇÖm in too deep to pull away. And the crazy thing is . . . I donÔÇÖt want to.

ÔÇ£You want me to fuck you like you are the war.ÔÇØ

Burn Down the Night by Molly OÔÇÖKeefeÔÇöIÔÇÖm not entirely sure if I can put in words how much I loved this book. It was a breath of fresh air with its dark and messed up characters. I went into this book blind, with no prior knowledge of the series either, and it completely blew my mind. I can honestly say I have a new favorite author on my list!

ÔÇ£I was Maleficent. Horned and vicious, my wings ripped off. Ready for bloody revenge. CÔÇÖest la who gives a fuck.ÔÇØ

Burn Down the Night started out with a bangÔÇöquite literally. It didnÔÇÖt ease us into the fucked up world lurking out there, a world most of us donÔÇÖt ever experience, but it threw us right into the middle of a warÔÇöa war to get back what was lost, to not care, to survive, to sacrifice.

ÔÇ£There were tons of other people in this world who would not understand what she was doing. Who wouldnÔÇÖt get it. But what I saw was a person who had no idea what to do with something that was bright and shiny and clean. Not when everything in her life was dirty. So, the only thing to do was to take the bright and shiny and clean thing and mess it up. Just a little. Just so she could hold it in her hand.ÔÇØ

Joan and Max are as fucked up as they are perfect for one another. I donÔÇÖt think IÔÇÖve ever met two people this messed up. Both of them had a harsh childhood, never trusting anyone, always expecting everyone to leave, so they prefer making people leave themselves before they care. But together, theyÔÇÖre like two sides of the same coin. They understand each other like no one else can. Every single fucked up thing about them. Which is a curse and then a blessing in itself.

ÔÇ£Because she mattered.
Because she made me want to be kind.
She made me want to be different. Better.ÔÇØ

This book was filled with the beautiful and engaging writing I encounter rarely lately. It not only kept me engaged, it also made me feel. And if there were typos, I didnÔÇÖt notice because the words filling the pages wouldnÔÇÖt let me notice anything but what was happening. Which for me, is the recipe of an amazing book.

ÔÇ£I will always come,ÔÇØ he said. ÔÇ£If you need me. IÔÇÖll be there.ÔÇØ

But while this book was amazingly well-written with an engaging storyline, the one thing I loved most about it where the two main charactersÔÇöJoan and Max. I enjoyed not only their chemistry and banter, but also the way they interacted and changed one another for the better. They didnÔÇÖt start out wanting to change each other, they each realized the mess they were couldnÔÇÖt be fixed with a couple nice words and sex. It was the understanding they showed to the otherÔÇÖs issues, and MaxÔÇÖs perseverance in the face of tragedy that changed them. For once in their life, they realized that staying and fighting, accepting goodness and love, embracing other people, are good thingsÔÇöthings to cherish.

ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖd burned down the night and our old lives with it.ÔÇØ

This book had it all for me. Amazing and engaging writing, well-developed characters, and an exciting storyline, but most of all, the book made me feel. It had me laugh out loud, wanting to throw my kindle, cry, and be thrilled for them. Overall, I can say this book will be on my TOP List for 2016! I loved it this much. Anyone who hasnÔÇÖt read it needs to!
