Falling for a con man is the most dangerous game of all

Con artist Austin ShawÔÇÖs been in disguise so long heÔÇÖs not sure where his fake identities end and he begins. Now that heÔÇÖs been strong-armed into working for a specialized undercover unit working with the Chicago policeÔÇöcriminals with unique ÔÇ£skillsÔÇØÔÇöthe last thing he needs is to risk his iron control. Especially when it comes to a certain stunningly sexy hacker who tempts him with every look of disdain.

Polly Banks will never, ever trust a con man. On the trail of a ruthless crook who destroyed the only family sheÔÇÖs ever known, Polly is unnerved by the shadow who follows her every move. The one who makes her pulse pound and breath short with lust. Austin. HeÔÇÖs infuriating, enigmatic, and pure sex appeal, and sheÔÇÖs determined to resist him.

But an untrustworthy man of disguise can become anyone he wantsincluding a man that Polly must trust if shes to escape their dangerous game alive.

ÔÇ£Together they were formidable. One hundred feet tall.ÔÇØ ~Polly

Tessa Bailey knocks it out of the park with Boiling Point! She created a unique, compelling, and hot as hell story IÔÇÖve never read before. In the sea of hot alpha male who take possessive and overprotective to a new level, Austin was a breath of much needed fresh air–not that he was not all that, but he was so much more.

ÔÇ£This trip to Roanoke had proven one crucial fact, however, which was that they needed each other in a way that transcended a vocal explanation.ÔÇØ ~ Polly

AustinÔÇöex-con, master of disguise, man without a conscience, doing anything for a con, a glorified whoreÔÇöthose are only a few things the man thought himself to be. However, what he clearly missed when looking at himself, and something we notice within the first few lines, is his devotion to Polly, this need to protect, his vulnerability beneath the cocky exterior.

ÔÇ£It should have bothered her that heÔÇÖd been watching for months without saying a word. It should, but it didnÔÇÖt. In a way, it even soothed her, knowing sheÔÇÖd never truly been alone. Austin had been there, fighting the loneliness off without her knowledge or appreciation.ÔÇØ ~ Polly

In the beginning, Polly is set in her conviction that Austin is purely a bad person, sure sheÔÇÖll forever dislike him due to her childhood and the fact that a con-artist much like Austin himself ruined her fathersÔÇÖ lives. She is unable to see beneath the surface. However, a common enemy brings them closerÔÇöclose enough for Polly to realize there is more to Austin than the mask he wears for the world to see.

ÔÇ£God, he loved the woman. Loved her strengths, her vulnerabilities, and everything in between. By some twist of fate, she love him, too. Every time she said it, eh still asked for her to repeat herself.ÔÇØ ~Austin

And the two of them together. Holy shit! Every time they come together the sparks fly, their chemistry sizzles, and they burn hot as hell. I love the fact that Austin is a submissive alpha, trust me the dichotomy is not lost on me, but it works. Austin needs atonement for his sins, and Polly needs to exert control, control she never had as a childÔÇönot when her mother abandoned her, or her adoptive fathers lost everything.

ÔÇ£But mostly I just didnÔÇÖt want distance separating us. YouÔÇÖre supposed to be close. I like having you close.ÔÇØ ~ Austin

Boiling Point is one of the best books IÔÇÖve read in a while, mostly because itÔÇÖs unique, and brave. This intriguingly written story grabbed me from page one and only drew me in more by the page. The amazingly well-developed characters with flaws and vulnerabilities they only show to one another kept me glued to the pages in order to know what happened next. Tessa Bailey truly is an artist making these broken characters come to life in my head. I cannot recommend this one enough. I loved this book.

ÔÇ£All yours. YouÔÇÖve been its cruel keeper for months.ÔÇØ He tilted his hips, presenting himself to her in a way that should have been crude, but on Austin, it was all animal grace. ÔÇ£At any time at all, you could have demanded me. Sent me to my knees to lick you off with one word. Grabbed my cock through my pants in front of everyone and told them who it belonged to.ÔÇØ His eyelids drooped as if the scenario was an aphrodisiac. ÔÇ£Please yourself with me, Polly. My body. My cock. Own it all.ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£I will,ÔÇØ she whispered, shaken by his speech. Emboldened by it. Holding his gaze she lifted the belt to his arousal and looped the leather around its ruddy base. A broken curse fell from his mouth, the muscles of his abdomen jerking. His big hands flew up, as if to grip her shoulders for balance, but they fisted and dropped back to his sides, where she told him with her inaction they must remain. Careful to keep the buckle from touching him, Polly tugged the leather to her right, watching the belt slither around his erection in a circular caress.

ÔÇ£Oh, fuck. Fuck. Fuck.ÔÇØ He swayed on his knees. ÔÇ£More. More.ÔÇØ

Polly leaned close and ran her tongue along the seam of his lips, pulling away when he tried to capture her mouth in a kiss. ÔÇ£Only if it pleases me.ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£Yes.ÔÇØ His nod was disjointed, breathing uneven. ÔÇ£Only if it pleases you.ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£It does.ÔÇØ Faster than the first time, Polly pulled the belt left, whimpering at the sight of his aching flesh being squeezed between the leather strip, the precum that beaded at his tip. She repeated the action twice more, faster and with more surrounding pressure on his length each time. ÔÇ£How does it feel?

ÔÇ£Like nothing else,ÔÇØ Austin groaned, neck muscles straining. ÔÇ£ThereÔÇÖs nothing else.ÔÇØ

His declaration made her want to prove him wrong. Or maybe she needed a distraction to avoid feeling humbled. With the decision to stop thinking and experience, Polly grasped AustinÔÇÖs hand and dragged it up her skirt, between her thighs where his palm conformed to her shape without hesitation, ripping a moan from her throat. ÔÇ£Th-there is something else.ÔÇØ

AustinÔÇÖs gaze turned intent, fixated on her face. ÔÇ£You need to fuck now, sweet?ÔÇØ There was nothing casual about his perusal of her body. It was predatory filth and it set Polly ablaze. His middle finger pushed at her entrance, through the barrier of her underwear. ÔÇ£Ah God, just set me loose with a yes. I will split the fucking headboard down the middle from bucking into this pussy.ÔÇØ

About Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
