I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

From the author of Taint, comes this steamy novel of a happily married couple who decides to take a walk on the wild side in order to add spice to their sex lifeÔÇöbut end up in a situation that neither could have ever bargained for.

Heidi DuCane is a tough-as-nails publicist with a passion for success and her husband Tucker. While theyÔÇÖre polar opposites, what they do have in common is a fierce love and commitment to each other. But their relationshipÔÇöin and out of the bedroomÔÇöwill be put to the ultimate test.

Rock superstar Ransom Reed is every womanÔÇÖs fantasy, including HeidiÔÇÖs. When she meets Ransom, she shares a wild night with him where Heidi gets to playÔÇöand Tucker watches, and enjoys, the pleasure Ransom gives Heidi. Though Tucker was a willing participant, Heidi still canÔÇÖt help reeling with guilt. ThereÔÇÖs no doubt that she loves her husband. While Tucker is the perfect loverÔÇögenerous, attentive and gentleÔÇöshe needs much more. She needs the mind-blowing ecstasy Ransom offers.
Tucker isnÔÇÖt blind to the fact that Heidi has unconventional needs which he canÔÇÖt satisfy. He loves his wife and will do anything to please her The night he watched her and Ransom was so scorching hot that Tucker canÔÇÖt stop thinking about it. He decides he wants to join Ransom in pleasing Heidi. But as Tucker and Heidi soon realize, itÔÇÖs not just the sex that is enticing. Heidi felt something within her awaken, and she felt so deliciously sated and loved by both men. Tucker felt it too, and he finds it impossible not to want that feeling again.

Ransom and Tucker satisfy a need within Heidi. And now that sheÔÇÖs had them, she can never go back to the way things were before.

**5++ Stars**

I knew this one might mess with my heart and head, but I read it anyway. Much like our female protagonist Heidi, I just couldnÔÇÖt help myself. Tryst ┬á(Sexual Education #2) simply overwhelmed my sensibilities and left me with so many conflicting emotions. ┬áPart of that may have been the fact that I began reading it in the evening and didnÔÇÖt stop reading it ┬áuntil I finished, at nearly 3:00 am. ┬áDays later I can feel my blood pressure rise just thinking about it . Tryst is one of my top angsty reads of 2015 – for a few different reasons.

The story itself takes place over a relatively short period of time. Tucker and Heidi Ducane meet rocker Ransom Reed, some sexy and illicit activities ensue and it doesnÔÇÖt take long for Heidi and Ransom to develop a mutual obsession for each other. ┬áThe physical pull between Ransom and Heidi is evident and primal, while her relationship with her husband Tucker is emotive. ┬áWith Ransom in her life, Heidi becomes manic and I felt every bit of that mania with her.

She hides her feelings from everyone and the lies and half truths become her norm. We are in her head and her back and forth with what she thinks of Ransom and of Tucker shows how disenchanted she is so itÔÇÖs really easy to feel sorry for her. ┬áBut then there are moments when you understand just all that Tucker has been to her and yet she canÔÇÖt help herself. I felt her desperation, her shame, her excitement, her fear and confusion. SheÔÇÖs in a place no one wants to find themselves in:

ÔÇ£I hate myself,ÔÇØ I sob.┬á

ÔÇ£I hate myself for wanting you. And I hate him for letting me.ÔÇØ

HeidiÔÇÖs half-truths and lies begin piling up and I started to dread the effect on the Ducane marriage, more specifically with Tucker. ┬á┬áHe seems oblivious to it all but heÔÇÖs a smart man so how could he not see what was happening with HeidiÔÇÖs heart? ┬áWe can only guess what he observed in her behavior and ┬áwhat he might have known – maybe he thought the obsession would burn out – but surely not without causing immense damage to their relationship. I kept thinking that Tucker would step in and call her out on her behavior, on the anxiety she is projecting.

I had a love hate with Ransom. For a good part of the story I couldnÔÇÖt shed the feeling that he was just a player. ┬áThereÔÇÖs moments where something else is there, but the aggressive predator feeling was always in the background. I couldnÔÇÖt tap into his intentions with Heidi – just what did he expect from herÔǪ

Jennings is a master at finessing a story line and drops what I can only call ÔÇ£little bombsÔÇØ that work into HeidiÔÇÖs narrative. They are short phrases that hold clues as to whatÔÇÖs coming. ItÔÇÖs the equivalent of hearing brakes screech and waiting for the a sound of a crash. ┬áJennings is incredibly clever and throws in a twist, ┬áa big reveal, and itÔÇÖs something that I never ever could have guessed.

Tryst is incredibly erotic and emotionally perplexing and left me with one of the worst book hangovers of the year.  SL Jennings took what I thought would be a purely sexy and naughty read and laid waste to my heart.

ÔÇ£I dare┬áyouÔǪto let me touch your wife.ÔÇØ

An┬áaudible gasp escapes my kiss-swollen lips and turn to Tucker, awaiting his┬áwrath. He returns RansomÔÇÖs intent stare, his expression unreadable. Yet, the┬áyounger man doesnÔÇÖt back down, cocking a challenging brow at TuckÔÇÖs silence. He┬áremains unmovable, a master at the art of restraint from his years as a shrink.┬áNo doubt heÔÇÖs had to answer some odd questions, but never any involving his┬áwife.

ÔÇ£I┬ádonÔÇÖt let Heidi do anything. She has┬áher own mindÔǪher own body.ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£So┬ámaybe I should be asking her.ÔÇØ A sinister smile on his lips, Ransom angles his┬áfocus on me.

ÔÇ£Heidi, would you let me touch you?ÔÇØ

My┬áfirst reaction is to say noÔÇöhell no.┬áBut Tucker quickly grasps my knee, capturing my attention.

ÔÇ£This┬áis what you want,ÔÇØ he whispers. ┬áÔÇ£HeÔǪis what you want. And I can accept that.┬áThis is your fantasy, baby. Let me help you make it come true.ÔÇØ ┬á

I┬ásearch his face, waiting for him to break into laughter, but heÔÇÖs completely┬áserious. My husband is telling me to let another man put his hands on meÔÇöhis┬áwife. This isnÔÇÖt right. This isnÔÇÖt what married people are supposed to do. But┬áeven as that rational part of my brain lists all the reasons why I shouldnÔÇÖt┬áallow this to go any further, my body is already tingling with anticipation. My┬áface and chest are flush. My nipples harden in exhilaration. And my mouth┬áwaters with the prospect of tasting RansomÔÇÖs skin.

Oh, God. I do want this. And now the decision is mine and mine alone.

ÔÇ£So?ÔÇØ┬áRansom asks, awaiting our fate.

Say no.

Say no.

Grab TuckerÔÇÖs hand and get the fuck out┬áof here. Go home and make love to him. Let that kind, good, gentle man be┬áenough.

Once again, Ransom Reed steals the truth from my lips, forcing me to abandon all decency and sanity. Making me take the sanctity of my marriage and soil it with my own slick arousal.

In one┬ásingle breath, I shatter ten years of devotion, trust and love. And although I┬áknow what IÔÇÖm destroying by lighting this fire, I canÔÇÖt do much more than stand┬áback and watch it all go up in flames.
