After his mother dies, rock star Ace WhiteÔÇölead singer of the red-hot band Wicked WhiteÔÇöis done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesnÔÇÖt want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some placeÔÇöany placeÔÇöwhere he can be alone.
Aspiring singer Iris EastonÔÇÖs life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now sheÔÇÖs buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris canÔÇÖt help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell thereÔÇÖs something from his past haunting himÔÇösomething heÔÇÖs not telling her.
Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?
Michelle Valentine is an awesome writer.┬á I jumped at the chance to read and review this book.┬á First off…GO ON IRIS with your bad self.┬á Life wasn’t easy for her, but she had the love and strength from her Grandma (a strong role model who gave her strength to pursue her dreams).┬á I love that she is not afraid to chase after what she wants ÔÇô love, life and her dreams!
Ace and Iris have lived very parallel lives but the way they make decisions is a huge difference between them.  Their connections is off the charts and instantaneous.  What they quickly figure out is that there is no denying it.  What they have yet to figure out is if they are both willing to fight for their love, come hell or high water.
Now, we have to talk about Ace.┬á HeÔÇÖs a complicated and slightly damaged man.┬á He has a profound love and passion within him.┬á ItÔÇÖs quite beautiful.┬á You know he doesnÔÇÖt let it out very often so there is a sense of honor in being allowed this peak at the true depths of this man.┬á Insecurity gets the best of him, though.┬á Quite understandable considering the beginning he had in life.┬á HOWEVER, there are times when you want to tell him to walk it off and man up.┬á We all have something in our past that has hurt us.┬á ItÔÇÖs our decision as to how it will impact our future.
This book is a pretty quick, enjoyable read, and worth reading.
