Dimpled smile of a boy
Hard body of a man
Sings like an angel
Fucks like the devil
I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place.
At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall. At twenty-five his body hovered over mine. Every girlÔÇÖs fantasy became my reality. I was dating a rockstar. Yet I was slowly falling for another man. The problem wasÔÇöthe two menÔÇöthey shared a tour bus.
Flynn Beckham was the opening act.
Dylan Ryder was the headliner.
What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake?
IÔÇÖll tell you what happens. Things get ugly.

Flynn Beckham marches to his own beat. He has a passion for music, but doesnÔÇÖt care about being a rockstar. ┬áThe love and adoration of his 5 year old niece is much more important. ┬áWe realized Flynn was more than just your average bear when we met him in Throb. ┬áHe recognized true love, and stepped aside to let two souls connect. ┬áThis time, heÔÇÖs not stepping aside. ┬áHeÔÇÖs found his other half, and heÔÇÖs holding on tight with both hands. ┬áHis connection with Lucky is more than anything heÔÇÖs ever experience. ┬áHe knows this is it for him.
Lucky thought she was the luckiest girl when she landed her dream guy, Dylan Ryder. After meeting, Flynn, maybe it isnÔÇÖt the kind of luck she wants. After spending time with him, is what she feels really love? After losing her dad, sheÔÇÖs a bit gun shy when it comes to anything musical and would rather hide in her safe cocoon. Changes are scary, and Lucky isnÔÇÖt quite sure what to do. It looks like life isnÔÇÖt going to wait for Lucky to take the safe and easy route.
There is no possible way you canÔÇÖt love Flynn. ┬áThere are times you might want to smack Lucky for not figuring out what she wants. ┬áRegardless, they are magical together. ┬áI get that making big decisions are scary, but you only get one shot at this life. ┬áIf you really want something out of life ÔÇô love, a career, whatnot ÔÇô you canÔÇÖt be afraid to go for it, or youÔÇÖll miss out on the opportunity. ┬áRegret is the most bitter of pills.
Vi Keeland did a bang up job with this book. The writing and story flowed so well I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I couldnÔÇÖt stop cheering for the sweetness that is Flynn. There were some other great characters in the book IÔÇÖd like to get to know better; I sure hope we can get to know Nolan a little better. HeÔÇÖs a riot and I smell a story in his background.
5/5 stars and IÔÇÖm officially adding Flynn the BBF lineup!

~Review by Paula
Since I read Throb, I was crushing hard on Flynn Beckham, so I couldnÔÇÖt wait to read his story.
Beat by Vi Keeland definitely made my pulse beat harder and Flynn made me throb in all the right places. My crush was absolutely justified and is now a full-blown obsession.
After his TV documentary in Throb, Flynn is now trying to hit it big with his band ÔÇ£In Like FlynnÔÇØ. His dreams seem to be coming true when the band is signed as the opening act for ÔÇ£Easy RyderÔÇØ.
Things would be easy and simple but then he meets Lucky at a bar and though he might not get lucky with her, he still canÔÇÖt get her out of his head. That still wouldnÔÇÖt be too complicated if not for the fact that she has a boyfriend. Dylan Ryder, the lead singer of the band heÔÇÖs now working for.
To make things even more awkward, Lucky gets assigned to be FlynnÔÇÖs vocal coach when he works with Easy Ryder. All this, while both fight the strong sexual and emotional attraction they feel towards each other.
When lines between work, friendship and love blur, they might be fighting a fight they cannot win. And no deeds go unpunished as their attraction might have the power to destroy everything they worked so hard for.
Let me first tell you, I normally hate love triangles and cheating with a fiery passion and will rarely continue a book that deals with either. Yet, I couldnÔÇÖt stop reading Beat. No matter what a jerkface Dylan was, it didnÔÇÖt excuse LuckyÔÇÖs or FlynnÔÇÖs behavior and Vi Keeland made that clear. So while it rubbed me the wrong way that they did what they did, I was invested in their feelings, emotions, and needed to know more.
Lucky was so likeable that I couldnÔÇÖt just write her off and hate her. Despite not agreeing with her actions, I managed to understand her, feel for her ÔÇô thanks to the amazing depth she has as a character.
SheÔÇÖs sweet and sassy, with a fair amount of self-confidence. Although her tragic past still keeps her locked in an emotional prison, she is hell-bent on breaking out and living her life. And it takes some help from the charming and irresistible Flynn Beckham to finally let go of the past and take a step into her new future.
Honestly, Flynn Beckham could help me anytime. ItÔÇÖs so unique to have a hot, sexy, manly rock star who manages to be the sweetest guy ever at the same time. HeÔÇÖs breath-taking. Caring, attentive, respectful he still set my panties on fire while stealing my heart. I love his character so much. I love how he takes care of his sister and niece, how he isnÔÇÖt afraid to show his feelings and how he puts Lucky and her needs first. And I love even more when heÔÇÖs all sexy, demanding and possessive without ever being disrespectful or a Neanderthal. God, I adored this man.
And I adored his buddy Nolan who I hope will get his own book. Then there was Duff from ÔÇ£Easy RyderÔÇØ who was a sexy as hell. There definitely wasnÔÇÖt a lack of hot man, though none of them have anything on Flynn.
It was great character, hot men, an intriguing story ÔÇô all in all a fabulous read.
5 IÔÇÖm-FlynnÔÇÖs-Number-One-Fan Stars.
