Life throws you curve balls, but no parent should ever bury a child.

Determined not to make the same mistakes with his son as he made with his daughter, Nic Beuve is single-minded... until Hope walks into his life.

Hope Delaney, a woman with a past that almost broke her, tries to keep people at bay for their own protection. Fortunately for her, no one listens when she says she wants to be alone.

Burning desire, a deep need to protect, and a woman who looks like an angel breaks down Nic's defenses until he cant ignore them. He wants Hope and what Nic wants Hope thinks she can walk away at any time she just wasn't counting on a man like Nic to get in the way, or a nosy but loving Cajun Boss. All's fair in love and war and what Maman Rose wants is Nic and Hope together.

Will their relationship survive an ex-wife with an agenda or will her past come between them... or kill them?

After reading Property Of by CP Smith this past week, I couldnÔÇÖt help myself, I needed more of her brand of alpha-hotness. And that is exactly what I found in Restoring Hope. ItÔÇÖs heartbreaking, funny, redeeming, and above all, beautiful.

Hope Delaney is on the run and hiding from her horrible past. While trying to stay undetected she ends up in New Orleans and finds work at a bar, with pushy people that become her friends and start to care about her well-being. Even though she tries to stay detached, her boss, Rose, makes it her mission to rescue Hope from whatever is haunting her. Hope might appear like a fragile and weak woman at first, but she is quite the opposite. Having survived what she did; she is one of the strongest women I have met in a book.

Nic Beuve is the image of a man shattered to pieces after losing his little girl. He lacks purpose after his world is shattered, and the only thing that keeps him going is his son. That is, until Hope is shoved into his life by well-meaning friends. Nic is the alpha we all expect from CP Smith, even if he is somewhat broken. HeÔÇÖs sweet, overprotective, and bossy and totally swoon-worthy.

Restoring Hope is not the usual romantic comedy we are used to getting from CP Smith, but a darker book that pulls on all your heartstrings and plays with your emotions. I cried quite a lot with this one. However, due to the horrible things both characters have been through, their connection is strong and they fight for one another, because they know what it means to lose people one cares about. Both characters are complex, pull you in without trying, and forge a connection with the reader that makes it difficult to put the book down.

CP Smith is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors. I love her over-protective alpha men and strong female characters that pull you in with their banter. And the suspense is amazing. IÔÇÖm never able to guess who the killer or bad guy is.

If you want a broken, over-protecting, and sexy alpha, with a strong and sassy heroine, this book is definitely for you!
