ÔÇ£Life imitates art far more than art imitates Life.ÔÇØ ÔÇò Oscar Wilde

Author Nicola Royse dreamed of Scottish Highlanders as a teen then wrote about them as an adult. Always looking but never finding her own White Knight, she still held out hope that he would one day ride up on his trusty steed. He rode up all right, on a silver Harley with heat in his eyes and a detective's badge on his hip while she and her friends plotted her first contemporary romantic suspense. Of course, life couldn't' imitate art without a killer on the loose, one that had Nicola and her friends in his sights.

Detective Dallas Vaughn dedicated his life to catching killers. Then one day he bumped into the girl-next-door, and all that changed. Now he's her White Knight fighting against a Dark PrinceÔÇöone who would love to see her dead.

Property Of is my third book by CP Smith, and I absolutely adore it! ItÔÇÖs my favorite of hers so far, with A Reason to Kill a close second. Having been a follower of her since what feels like the beginning, I am so very impressed with her development as a writer. Her writing is awesome; the character and story development in Property Of are remarkable.

Property Of is the story of Nicola RoyseÔÇösassy, creative, outspoken, and clumsy historic romance writerÔÇöand Dallas VaughnÔÇöbossy, sweet, and over-protective homicide detective for the Tulsa PD.

As a romance writer, one would think Nicola knows love, but sadly, outside of the pages of her steamy novels she has not had any luck when it comes to love. However, when she finally decides to leave her self-imposed isolation while writing her book, to spend more time with her friends, she never imagined to run into Dallas, especially quite so literally. I love NicolaÔÇÖs humor, her clumsiness (I could totally identify with that), her sass, and creativity. She is the whole package with what I want in a strong, independent female character.

While out pursuing a new idea for a book with her friends, Nicola did not expect to run in to her knight in shining armor atop a motorcycle. Dallas is the typical alpha man we are used to from CP Smith. HeÔÇÖs sexy, bossy, and over-protective combined with a hilariously sweet dialog. The man has made me laugh out loud in public and wish men like him actually exist.

This book has the perfect balance between romance, suspense, and humor. It takes you on a wonderful journey of falling in love, while navigating the net of a killer. From the dialog, to the way the reader is directly addressed and makes them feel even more connected to the characters, to NicolaÔÇÖs ÔÇ£Picture itÔÇØ, this book was everything once can ask for. I cannot recommend this book enough! CP Smith has done an amazing job with this one!
